The Re-ignition Mitsubishi

ZIMOCO has reignited Zimbabwe's interest in the Mitsubishi Brand. To reignite means to start the act or process of burning something again. Mitsubishi is on fire again. In this case Zimoco is breathing life into the Mitsubishi brand with more new models and 24/7 parts availability. Their sales team will be more equipped for the benefit of the customer. The brand is becoming more in touch with the customer. DRIVEtorque believes they are on the right trajectory. Even their print adverts are now full of emotion and life. One can easily connect with them emotionally. Going forward we will see lots of excitement and activity around the Mitsubishi brand.
The Mitsubishi brand has been in Zimbabwe for several decades but has been considered a niche brand. Globally, the Mitsubishi brand has refocused itself and has introduced a number of passenger-oriented vehicles to complement its existing and better-known pick-up range. Everyone want a value for money car with luxuries. It does not help that the Chinese cars now offer some of these niceties as standard. Most manufacturers are now following suit and Mitsubishi is one of those leading the way.
However, the appetite for luxurious cars in the country is fast growing as vehicles now come with modern technology and comfort to cater for the family and business.
The new ASX Mitsubishi model has wide showroom appeal with a pair of new trims, a leather-lined, off-road-ready to capture the good moment in adventure of the Mavuradonha breeze. Mitsubishi recently introduced to a wide range of vehicles suitable for different sectors of the market.
One the 24th of March 2023, DRIVEtorque attended a media briefing which was hosted by Tafadzwa Nyabuta, Zimoco’s Marketing Manager
Zimoco’s Marketing officer Tafadzwa Nyabuta, said the Mitsubishi will be introducing fresh models for the Zimbabwean Market. To buttress his point, Zimoco becomes one of the first dealerships in Africa to launch the all-new 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander which is versatile and ready for adventure. It’s not yet available in South Africa. What a beauty of a vehicle. Its evidence of a brand that is moving with times, maybe ahead of times now.
“We hope that the reignition of the Mitsubishi brand in Zimbabwe will make Zimbabweans appreciate the brand for its history of over 40 years of being one of the most reliable and durable vehicles on the market,” said Nyabuta.
Adding on he said the model is all about the thrill of the drive with ultimate comfort and reliability which allows adventure, outdoor expedition and contouring the urban terrain.
The ASX combines all the benefits of compact SUV which includes the spacious interior, roomy boot and extra height while offering a seating space for six or seven passengers.
The concept, which recently made its debut at the 2023 Mitsubishi models, showcases the future design direction, and it’s clear that Mitsubishi is aiming to make a big splash with the new ASX and the Triton which is also known as L200 in the local and global markets.
The ASX concept features a bold and aggressive design, with sharp body lines and a muscular stance that exudes confidence and power. Under the camouflage which conceals all exterior components, the front grille looks larger and more pronounced than the current model, giving the vehicle a more imposing presence.
The headlights are sleek and feed into the daytime running lamps and led fog lamps, and the overall design of the ASX seems more streamlined, which should help improve overall performance.
Technical specifications are yet to be confirmed although it is thought that the updated ladder frame chassis will be shared with the next-generation of the SUVs.
The no nonsense 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is expected to have a longer wheelbase, a potentially larger bed and drum brakes on its rear wheels. This expected model also features swollen wheel arches, a sports bar, and large side mirrors, making it a formidable competitor to the likes of the Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok.
Zimoco has other models which are not new to the market which includes the new generation of Mitsubishi eclipse cross which is built under modern technology to intuitive technology working in unison to guide and protect, alert, connect and entertain.
A detour into Mitsubishi history, the company started production of the Model A in 1917, which became the first series produced passenger cars in Japan. By 1921, a total of 22 cars, including prototypes, had been assembled at the Kobe shipyard of Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. In designing the Model A, reference was taken from a car made in Europe.
It is this rich history and heritage that Zimoco is bringing to Zimbabweans
