The all new Jeep Grand Cherokee L: five things to know
The all new Jeep Grand Cherokee L: five things to know

The roomy and luxurious Jeep Grand Cherokee L is now available in Zimbabwe through Zimoco the official Jeep dealership in Zimbabwe. Designed to compete with the similarly powerful Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7, here are five things you need to know.
With the second and third row seating folded flat the Grand Cherokee L offers 2,396l of cargo space.

1. Seating for seven people (or a more luxurious six)
The Grand Cherokee L's expanded wheelbase measures 3,091mm, which is a 176mm increase over the standard Grand Cherokee. This gives the vehicle more internal space. As a result, a third row of seating can be added, providing enough for seven individuals. The Grand Cherokee L also has wider second-row door apertures that open up a full 64 degrees for easier vehicle access.
There is 1,328l of boot space when the third row of seats is pushed completely flat to the floor. When the second row is folded flat, the volume jumps to a whopping 2,396 l. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is a good option if you're searching for a roomy SUV with room for the whole family.
Customers can also choose the top-of-the-line Summit Reserve variant, which focuses more on extravagant luxury and has second-row seating that consists of two separate "tip and slide" chairs covered with heated and ventilated Palermo leather.

2. Three derivatives are available.
Three model versions of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L have been offered since its introduction: Limited, Overland, and Summit Reserve.
The entry-level Limited is well-equipped and has a long list of standard conveniences, such as heated front and rear seats, lighted cupholders, a leather-wrapped heated multifunction steering wheel, and three-zone temperature control. The airflow is also advantageous for the front seats. The company's Uconnect 5 Navigation system, which is connected to an 8.4-inch touchscreen, handles infotainment functions. A powerful 506 watt, nine-speaker Premium audio system is connected to this. Twelve USB ports, a wireless charging pad, and a digital instrument cluster are further notable features.
This specification is enhanced in the mid-range Overland model by a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen and a powerful McIntosh High Performance Audio System that uses a 950-watt amplifier to power 19 speakers. Other noteworthy improvements include a 10.25-inch interactive display for the front passenger, ambient lighting in many colors, Nappa leather upholstery, and a hands-free motorized tailgate for simple loading.
Exclusive features include full Palermo leather upholstery, a deluxe headliner, premium berber floor mats, second row window coverings, a wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel, illuminated door sills, and four-zone climate control are available on the top Summit Reserve. A massaging feature is added to the front seats for added comfort on lengthy journeys. A regular night-vision camera is also available for nighttime driving safety.

3. Power them all with one engine
Any Jeep Grand Cherokee L derivative you choose will include the company's 3.6l Pentastar V6 engine, which has been tweaked to produce 210kW and 344Nm of torque. An eight-speed automatic gearbox distributes this to all four wheels. This gives the Grand Cherokee L a maximum braked towing capacity of 2,813kg, according to Jeep. The combined cycle fuel consumption is rated at 10.6 l/100 km, but in practice, especially at altitude, we would anticipate it to be much higher.

4. Ready for the challenging material
The Grand Cherokee L, like the majority of cars bearing the Jeep moniker, promises to be more than capable on rough terrain. The company's Quadra-Trac I 4x4 System is installed in the base Limited model, but the Overland and Summit Reserve have the more sophisticated Quadra-Trac II system. A Quadra-Lift air suspension system with semi-active dampening is also featured on these two variants. Selec-Terrain traction management system with five modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand), hill descent control, and a rear limited-slip differential are standard on all Grand Cherokee L versions.
